A controlled municipal government environment is created for the purpose of allowing youth and young adults ages 8 - 22 years old to engage in true-to-life political exercises. The exercises will equip the attendees with a basic understanding of the terminology, principles, and inner workings of the American political system. Activities will include introduction of voter registration and the voting process, town hall meetings, current world situations, diplomacy and other pertinent topics. Each participant will prepare and deliver a 2-minute campaign speech.
Awards will be presented to winners in the form of certificates, trophies, and/or medallions. There will be orations by oratorical winners, special performances by the Labarbara International Talent Hour winners, and recognition of ISMM Executive and Support Staff. A Baccalaureate ceremony is held prior to the closing for high school and college graduates.
